Sunday, Feb. 10 around 3 a.m., New York State Police responded to the Woodbury exit of I-87 on the report of a driver who did not have the funds needed to pay the thruway toll. The driver, 52-year-old Alicia E. Snyder of Sloatsburg, was determined to be intoxicated, police said. Snyder was arrested and transported to SP Newburgh. Lawrence Weissman, 56, of Sloatsburg, was sentenced Friday following his guilty plea, said Rockland District Attorney Thomas Zugibe.  Weissman, an attorney with offices in West Nyack, was appointed as special prosecutor by the Village of Spring Valley Board of Trustees in 2016. Car Crashes Into Home In Sloatsburg A car smashed into the front of a home in Sloatsburg after the driver lost control, according to the Ramapo Police Department. The incident took place around 6:30 a.m. Thursday at Post Road and Route 17 in Sloatsburg, police said. The car crashed through a rock wall, a fence and into the front steps of the home before landing on the side of the porch, officials said. Police reported there were no injuries.
