Truck Driver Injured In Route 78 Crash: Njsp A truck driver was injured following a crash on Route 78 in Somerset County on Saturday, Dec. 13, authorities said. At 10:23 a.m., a crash occurred between a Toyota sedan and a Freightliner tractor trailer in Bernards Township, Christopher Postorino, a spokesman for the New Jersey State police said. The crash caused the tractor trailer to veer off the road left and strike a guardrail, Postorino said. The driver of the Freightliner sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital, Postorino said. The crash remains under investigation, Postorino said.

At 7:35 a.m., a Nissan SUV was traveling northbound on Route 287 in Bedminster Township when it ran off the roadway to the left and struck a tree, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey Police said. The driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital, Lebron said. The crash led to traffic being heavily backed up in the area, footage from NJDOT showed.
