Two Alleged Drug Dealers Nabbed In Connection To Fatal Long Island Overdoses
A pair of alleged drug dealers have been charged in connection to a string of fatal Long Island overdoses. Four overdoses occurred on or about Friday, Aug. 13, in Southold. There are several additional fatal and non-fatal overdoses that occurred on the East End that are still actively under investigation. Police on Long Island say another overdose victim who was revived may be linked to fentanyl-laced cocaine that has caused six deaths and several overdoses. In Suffolk County, Southold Police Chief Martin Flatley said a 34-year-old victim from Laurel suffered an overdose at his home, but was revived with Narcan. Alarm bells are sounding for some officials on Long Island following a recent rash of fatal overdoses involving fentanyl-laced cocaine. In the past eight days, officers on Long Island have responded to at least nine overdoses that led to six deaths, largely in Suffolk County, including multiple fatalities in the North Fork and Shelter Island.
