Worker Injured After Fall Into 20,000-Pound Vat Of Chocolate In Commack
A worker was injured when he fell into a vat of chocolate at Simply Nature Foods in Commack. The incident took place around 12:45 p.m., Tuesday, July 9, at the business at 74 Mall Drive, said the Suffolk County Police. The 37-year-old Hauppauge man was attempting to add ingredients into a 20,000-pound tank of chocolate when he fell into the vat, said the Suffolk County Police. He was taken by Commack Rescue Ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of minor injuries, police said.
