Slowing Now Seen In Growth Of New LI Covid-19 Hospitalizations: Breakdown Of Cases
Hospitalizations for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been slowing on Long Island, as more and more patients have been getting treated, resolve and released.
There are now 27,772 confirmed cases of COVID-19, while Suffolk is reporting 25,775 cases as of Friday, April 17. The fatality rate was not released by officials.
Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone said that there were only 23 new hospitalizations in the past 24 hours, up from 1,562 to 1,585. In Nassau, County Executive Laura Curran announced that there were 80 fewer hospitalizations, dropping the total to 2,339.

More than 1,800 novel coronavirus deaths (COVID-19) have now been reported as cases continue to climb on day 46 of the outbreak.
As of Thursday, April 16, There were 1,057 new cases in Nassau County, bringing the total to 27,772, while there were 904 cases in Suffolk, as the total rose to 24,182 since the outbreak began. There have been 1,109 COVID-19 deaths in Nassau and 693 in Suffolk.
In Nassau, there are still 2,419 COVID-19 patients hospitalized, while 1,630 in Suffolk are still being treated for the virus.

The number of deaths of Long Island residents from novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is now near 1,000 as Nassau and Suffolk positive cases climb daily.
Nassau County Executive Laura Curran announced Thursday afternoon, April 9 that there have been 1,592 confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 20,140. There have been 633 deaths reported in Nassau since the outbreak.
In Suffolk County, Executive Steve Bellone said on Thursday afternoon that there are 1,569 newly reported cases, as the countywide total climbed to 18,803. There have been at least 323 deaths due to COVID-19 in Suffolk.
