Stuck In The Mud: SUV Thieves Arrested In Lyndhurst, Police Say
A pair of SUV thieves were arrested after one of them led a brief pursuit but got stuck in the mud of a marsh last week in Bergen County, police said.
Carlos Sierra, 37, and Hortensia Herrera, 50, both of Guttenberg, have been lodged in the Bergen County Jail following their arrests in Lyndhurst Friday, Aug. 16, Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said.
Lyndhurst Officer Anthony Giaquinto was on patrol in the 1200 block of Wall Street West when he got a tip that a stolen 2007 GMC Sierra was in the area, Auteri said.

Three teenagers were in custody after leading Paramus police on a pursuit that ended in a crash just off the Garden State Parkway on Tuesday, Aug. 13, authorities said.
The teen boys, ages 15, 16, and 15 — from Newark, Orange, and Paterson, respectively — were fleeing an Upper Saddle River patrolman in a stolen 2023 Honda Civic southbound on Route 17 around 4:50 a.m., Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said.
