East Farmingdale Wall Collapses During Height Of Powerful Storms
As strong storms ripped through Suffolk County, part of a building collapsed in high winds, sending debris over parked vehicles.
The incident took place around 9:35 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 22, at the Maxus Worldwide Nutrition building on Executive Boulevard, in East Farmingdale, leaving a large hole in the side of the building, said the Suffolk police said.
Police said a K-9 unit and firefighters with thermal imaging cameras searched the area for victims, but no one was injured.

Thousands Still Without Power After Severe Storms Slam Long Island
Power officials are bringing in extra crews and working non stop to restore power to tens of thousands of Long Island residents still without power following Sunday's powerful storms.
As of 9:30 a.m., Monday, July 1, there were 22,885 customers without power across Long Island, said PSEG Long Island spokesman Marko Cucci.
Suffolk County was hit the hardest. Hardest hit areas are in the towns of Islip, Huntington, Smithtown, and Babylon, the company said.
Additional personnel, including tree and line crews, have been deployed to continue to assess, repair damage and restore outages.

Storm Knocks Out Power To Hundreds In Fairfield County, Thousands In Connecticut
Thousands of Connecticut residents are without power as a nasty storm with whipping winds and heavy downpours rolls through the region.
As of 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24, 9,582 Eversource and United Illuminating customers were reporting outages, down slightly from earlier in the day as crews work to restore power throughout the state.
United Illuminating is reporting a total of 5,154 of their 335,073 customers are reporting outages stemming from 515 incidents.
