Connecticut Lottery announced five new Powerball winners who claimed $50,000 prizes.

New Coffee Bar In Stratford Welcomes Guests, Furry Friends
A brand-new coffee bar in Fairfield County is now welcoming guests and their furry friends.
Frenchie's Coffee Bar, located in Stratford, at 2420 Main St., held its ribbon-cutting event at noon on Tuesday, Oct. 18, according to Stratford town officials.
The coffee bar is owned by Patrice Wilson-Neil and Kevin O'Neil, who created the business with the goal of giving the community a new space to create and showcase their ideas.
The coffee shop serves a variety of espresso drinks, along with drip coffee, French press coffee, and rainbow hot chocolate.

Armed, Dangerous Suspect Wanted In Bridgeport Murder Caught, Police Say
A man who was considered armed and dangerous and wanted for a stabbing homicide in Fairfield County has been apprehended by police.
Lawrence Blue, age 45, of Bridgeport, was caught hours after the word went out on Saturday, Oct. 29, that he was wanted for the early morning stabbing death of 23-year-old Justice Hunter of Bridgeport, said Capt. Kevin Gilleran of the Bridgeport Police.
The homicide was discovered around 4:15 a.m. Saturday, when Bridgeport officers responded to the 800 block of Atlantic Street on the report of a party stabbed at that location, Gilleran said.

Stratford Man Nabbed For Murder Of 29-Year-Old Bridgeport Resident
A Fairfield County man has been charged in the shooting death of a 29-year-old man and the wounding of two others.
Joseph DeJesus, formerly known as Joseph Reyes, age 38, of Stratford, was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 25 for the Saturday, Oct. 8 shooting death of Dominique Jones, of Bridgeport, said Capt. Kevin Gilleran, of the Bridgeport Police.
DeJesus was apprehended by members of the US Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force, along with members of the Bridgeport and Stratford Police Department, Gilleran added.

Bridgeport Resident Wins $250,000 In State Lottery
A Fairfield County resident has claimed a $250,000 Connecticut Lottery prize.
Bridgeport resident Chhumnith Houry won the "$250,000 Cashword 9" prize from a ticket purchased at Wood's Mart in Bridgeport, CT Lottery announced on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
The lottery said the store is located at 427 Wood Ave.

Suspect Nabbed For Carjacking, Assault At Gas Station In Stratford
Police have apprehended a man wanted for months following a carjacking and assault at a gas station in Fairfield County.
The incident took place in Stratford on Monday, Dec. 20, 2021, at the Citgo gas station located on Main Street.
According to Capt. Frank Eannotti, of the Stratford Police, the victim left her vehicle running with the driver's door slightly ajar while getting gas.
An SUV pulled up next to her vehicle and the suspect, identified as Tayvion Hart, age 19, of New Haven, got into the driver seat of her car, Eannotti said.
