Protest Planned For GOP Presidential Hopeful Ron DeSantis' Visit To Hudson Valley
As Republican presidential candidate, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, heads to the Hudson Valley for an upscale fundraiser, local Democrats, and LBGTQ supporters, plan to protest.
DeSantis is slated to appear at an invitation-only $ 6,600-a-person fundraising event in Rockland County at the Crowne Plaza in Suffern on Thursday, June 29.
In advance of the event, reportedly planned by Seth Gribetz, the Englewood, New Jersey investor, local Democrats are putting out the call for demonstrators on their Facebook page.

Popular Italian Restaurant In Hudson Valley Announces Date For Closure
The owner of a longtime Hudson Valley restaurant has announced the last date the eatery will be open for business.
Marcello’s Ristorante, an Italian restaurant located in Suffern in Rockland County, will have its last official day with its regular menu on Saturday, Dec. 31, Chef Marcello Russodivito announced.
Russodivito said he is retiring from the restaurant business and plans to focus on other projects, such as guided tours of Italy.

Teen Trio From Rockland All Caught Packin' Pistols On Street Corner, Police Say
Three Rockland County teens mingling on a street corner were all carrying guns when detectives in Paterson, New Jersey, rolled up on them, authorities said.
Detectives Jonathan Traynor and Kenneth Kerwin approached the trio at the corner 5th Avenue and East 12th Street shortly before 12:30 a.m. last Sunday, Nov. 27, city Police Director Jerry Speziale said.
