Two Suffolk County store clerks were caught selling alcohol and tobacco to minors during a police compliance check, authorities announced on Wednesday, Aug. 13.
Aman, 24, of South Ozone Park, was working at One Stop Smoke Shop, 233A Broadway in Greenlawn, when they allegedly sold alcohol to an underage customer, Suffolk County Police said. Aman was charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1st Degree, a Class A misdemeanor.

A Long Island man is accused of committing lewd acts in public and inappropriately touching women since May, Suffolk County Police announced on Saturday, Aug. 9.
Franklin Portillo-Hernandez, 26, of Farmingville, allegedly masturbated inside a black 2003 Honda CR-V while attempting to talk to a 39-year-old woman walking in a parking lot along Veterans Memorial Highway in Hauppauge, according to police. The incident happened around 3 p.m., and the suspect fled the scene.

Michael Tulchiner, 61, of Bellmore, was arraigned on one count of felony larceny in Suffolk County Court on Friday, Aug. 8.
Tulchiner, the principal attorney at The Law Office of Michael J. Tulchiner in Melville, diverted $413,237 from a mortgage disbursement account between August and December 2022, prosecutors allege.

Majorie Quarrie, also known as Nicola Watson, stabbed 36-year-old Conrad Gowan in the neck at his residence on Herricks Lane at 11:43 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2024, according to the Suffolk County Homicide Squad and as Daily Voice previously reported.
Gowan, a resident of the home, was transported by the Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead where he was pronounced dead.

A 56-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Middle Island, Suffolk County police announced on Saturday, Aug. 2.
Robert Trombly was crossing the westbound lane of Middle Country Road near Tudor Lane when he was struck by a westbound 2021 Hyundai Sonata driven by Giovanna Cieslak, 19, of Coram, at 9:20 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1, detectives said.
Trombly, of Middle Island, was transported by Middle Island Rescue to NY Langone Hospital–Suffolk in Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. Cieslak was not injured.
