Woman Loses Control Of Vehicle, Hits Long Island House, Becomes Stuck In Stairwell, Police Say
A 53-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly losing control of her vehicle and hitting a Long Island house, with the vehicle becoming stuck in the basement stairwell.
The crash took place around 10:15 p.m., Monday, March 1 on Thorne Drive, in Bethpage, said the Nassau County Police.
According to police, Eighth Precinct officers responded to a residence on Thorne Drive for an auto accident. Upon arrival, it was determined the vehicle left the roadway and struck a house.
The vehicle was stuck in the basement stairwell and the driver was unable to exit the vehicle.

An East Orange man's blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit when he crashed into a tree causing his 19-year-old passenger to have one of her legs amputated, authorities said Friday.
