A Fairfield County police department was the victim of a swatting incident after they received a fake call for help. The incident took place around 2:28 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 14, when the Darien Police dispatch received a call from a man purporting to be at a Birch Road residence, said Sgt. James Palmieri. A call to Paramus police that shots were fired Wednesday morning at the Garden State Plaza proved bogus, authorities said.
