South Jersey Drowning Victim, 23, Identified Authorities have released the name of a 23-year-old man who reportedly drowned in a popular but hazardous stretch of water in Weymouth Furnace Park. The man's body was recovered from Great Egg Harbor River in the Mays Landing section of Hamilton Township about two hours after he disappeared on Sunday, reports said.  The drowning victim has been identified as Carlos Alvarado of Hammonton, authorities said. The water emergency was called about 4 p.m. off 100th Street in Long Beach, according to initial reports.  An unconfirmed report said the elderly swimmer had been pulled from the water and that EMTs were trying to revive her.
