2 Killed In Separate Crashes In North Lindenhurst, Huntington
Two people were killed in separate Long Island crashes on Saturday, Aug. 5.
The first happened at around 2:45 p.m. in North Lindenhurst.
A 56-year-old West Babylon man was driving a 2008 Ford E250 van northbound on Straight Path, at the intersection of Wellwood Avenue, when his vehicle struck an electric scooter, Suffolk County Police said.
Shawn Gavigan, age 67, of Lindenhurst, who was riding the scooter, crossing Wellwood Avenue eastbound from Heathcote Road, police said.

Danny’s Chinese Kitchen, located in Bellmore at 2370 Merrick Road, was named as having the best Chinese takeout on Long Island on the 2023 Bethpage Best of Long Island awards.
Founded in January 2014 by brothers Daniel and David Antin, the restaurant has since expanded to include locations in Oceanside and Syosset.

New Long Island Restaurant Cited As Having 'Something For Everyone'
A new Long Island restaurant serving up locally sourced craft food and cocktails appears to be a hit with diners weeks after opening.
Hilltop Kitchen & Bar, located in Syosset at 150 Jericho Turnpike, welcomed its first customers in early January 2022.
Open daily for lunch and dinner, the eatery offers up a variety of burgers, salads, and sandwiches.
Among them is the Dirty Steak Sandwich, made with truffle oil, arugula, creamy horseradish sauce, house made blue cheese dressing, and crispy onions all served on ciabatta bread.
