20 Passport Applications Missing From Post Office In Hudson Valley
Another Hudson Valley post office is facing questions after 20 passport applications were lost in Rockland County, leading to a cacophony of angry voices seeking answers. Lawmakers are demanding that the United States Postal Service “explain and remedy” the causes of the loss of the 20 applications in Tappan, which has since been confirmed by the USPS. Thieves targeting the United States Postal Service mailboxes on streets in Westchester are becoming bolder, this time targeting a post office itself. In a statement, the Bronxville Police Department reported that it is investigating a series of mail thefts in the village, including items that were deposited in the mail slot at the lobby of the post office on Pondfield Road. Tappan Woman, 23, Faces Assault Charge After Domestic Incident
Police intervention was required when a domestic dispute involving a woman from Tappan turned physical, according to the Orangetown Police Department. Officers were dispatched to a Tappan home shortly after 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, where there was a reported dispute between two people. Tappan Woman, 34, Charged With Driving Drunk With Child In Her Car
A 34-year-old woman from Tappan found passed out next to the driver's side of her car on Wednesday, Jan. 31, was drunk and had a child in the car, Orangetown Police said. Emily M. Bell of Main Street in Tappan was found next to her car on Stevens Way in Orangeburg about 5:45 p.m., police said. She was charged with felony DWI under Leandra's Law for having a child under the age of 16 in her vehicle, police said.
