PA Wrestler Heading To Tokyo Olympics
A York County grappler is heading to the Summer Olympics in Tokyo. John Stefanowicz, 29, will wrestle for Team USA after securing a spot on the U.S. Greco-Roman wrestling team, by winning at the US Olympic trials. NBA Legend Kobe Bryant, Daughter Among Nine Killed In Helicopter Crash

NBA legend and former Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant was among nine people, including his teenage daughter, killed in a helicopter crash in southern California, authorities said. The crash happened just northwest of downtown Los Angeles at about 9:45 a.m. Pacific time on Sunday, Jan. 26. A Greenwich brother and sister returned home from Bolivia with medals they won in a youth fencing championship. In her first international fencing competition, 13-year-old Madison Duckett won a gold medal at the Pan American Youth Championships for Team USA for her victory in the Pre-Cadet Women’s Saber event that took place in Cochabamba, Bolivia in August. Four Chappaqua teenagers -- Allison Bray, Rhianna Gold, Lauren Sallay and Emmy Sloan -- have earned spots to compete at the U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships in Portland, Ore., from Feb. 22-24.
