Teaneck Teen Swipes Gun At Tenafly House Party: Police
An 18-year-old Teaneck resident attending a small gathering in Tenafly stole a handgun from the home, authorities said. Tenafly police arrested Byron Jones on Wednesday, March 28, and charged him with taking the gun on Feb. 3, Capt. Michael deMoncada said. "The victim in that case realized that a personally owned firearm was missing after a family member hosted a small gathering at the home," deMoncada said. Spike strips deployed by Palisades Interstate Parkway Police stopped three teenage thieves as they sped south into New Jersey on Tuesday in a Jeep stolen out of Rockland County, authorities said. Christine Grogan, Wyckoff Resident, Dies After Three-Year ALS Battle
Christine Grogan, a 60-year-old Wyckoff resident, died on Sunday, Dec. 31, three years after being diagnosed with ALS. A special education teacher, Grogan worked as director of the Epic School in Paramus and for the Learners' Compass in Tenafly, according to her obituary. Grogan was devoted to helping people diagnosed with autism. Grogan was married to Christopher Grogan, a Glen Ridge police officer. Landmark Liquor Store In Englewood Severely Damaged By Fire
Fire severely damaged a landmark business that has been part of Englewood's fabric for well over a century, officials said. The two-alarm blaze at I Wides Liquors on West Englewood Avenue broke out around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31. Firefighters kept the flames from spreading past the front of the building and had the blaze under control in barely an hour. A 19-year-old man from Bergen County remains missing, and New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy says he may be among the hostages taken by Hamas.
