Man Fatally Shot In Newark: Prosecutors
A 49-year-old Irvington man was shot and killed in Newark on Wednesday, Aug. 30, authorities said. At 9:17 p.m., police responded to a shooting on the 100 block of Goodwin Avenue and found Andre Shoulars outside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Shoulars was taken to a nearby hospital where he was soon pronounced dead, Stephens and Fragé said. Child, 5, Dead After Being Found In Newark Bathtub: Prosecutors
A five-year-old died after being found unresponsive in a bathtub in Newark on Monday, Aug. 28, authorities said. At 7:26 p.m., police responded to the 400 block of Washington Street, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Newark Man, 50, Dies Days After Irvington Shooting
A 50-year-old Newark man was fatally shot in Irvington, police said. Tony King was found suffering gunshot wounds around 11:25 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, on the 100 block of Isabella Avenue, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Irvington Police Director Tracy Bowers said. King was pronounced dead at 12:05 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 27. The investigation is active and ongoing. A 55-year-old North Carolina resident was convicted in the June 2021 shooting death of Renown Wilson, a 55-year-old Orange resident, authorities said. James Height was found guilty of aggravated manslaughter in the first degree on Wednesday, August 9 following a two-week trial in Essex County Superior Court, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. A 69-year-old Whippany resident was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a minor in a parking lot, authorities said.
