Woman Injured When Car Crashes Into Thornwood Gas Station
A Northern Westchester woman suffered injuries and a gas station convenience store was significantly damaged on Monday when a car slid off an icy roadway in Thornwood, fire officials confirmed. First responders were dispatched to the Shell Gas Station on Marble Avenue at approximately 6:45 p.m. on Monday evening, when a Honda slid off the icy road and through the store, causing extensive damage to both the vehicle and interior of the store. Valhalla Man Killed After Falling While Clearing Ice From Roof
A Westchester man died after slipping and falling while trying to clear an ice dam off of his roof, said Mount Pleasant Town Supervisor Carl Fulgenzi said. Filippo Cangialosi, 68, fell on Monday at his home on Stonegate Road in Valhalla, Fulgenzi said. "It's very sad when something like this happens," Fulgenzi said. "With the amount of snow and ice that we have had, it's best to leave this type of specialty work to a professional." 'Sexually Violent' Offender Reports Move To Valhalla
A registered "sexually violent" offender convicted of having sexual contact with a 7-year-old girl has reported a move in Westchester County. The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 34-year-old Byron Summers, who has moved from Valhalla to a residence on Walnut Place in Thornwood.
