A 34-year-old Nutley man was killed and his 20-month-old baby injured when the sedan they were riding in struck the back of a tractor-trailer on the New Jersey Turnpike in Bergen County on Sunday night, Sept. 29, police said. A teenager suffered severe injuries in a crash near a Long Island intersection. It happened around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, in Lake Ronkonkoma. A 56-year-old Nesconset woman was driving a 2024 Volkswagen SUV on Smith Road, near Cenacle Road, when the vehicle struck the 14-year-old boy who was rollerblading in the roadway, according to the Suffolk County Police. An interstate in the Hudson Valley was temporarily closed after a truck overturned, injuring the driver. The crash happened in Putnam County on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 10, when a truck crashed on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 84 just east of Route 312 in Brewster, according to the Brewster Fire Department. A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed in Mount Laurel, authorities said. A vehicle heading south on Route 73 hit the pedestrian between Clover Road and Rogers Walk at around 11:10 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, Mount Laurel police said. The pedestrian wasn't identified as of Monday, Aug. 19. Investigators said the pedestrian didn't cross the road in a crosswalk. No other injuries were reported in the crash.
