For those who enjoy putting the pedal to the metal, they might want to check the impulse when entering the City of Peekskill. In an effort to slow down speeders, the city's police department recently installed an electronic speed indicator sign to remind driver's how fast they are traveling. The sign is located on Main Street near the Stop & Shop at Route 6 where the speed limit drops from 25 mph to 15 mph. Motorists should expect delays after contracting crews began their latest road resurfacing project on Tuesday morning. A busy Rockland bridge will be closed for several months as contracting crews get set for a lengthy reconstruction project in the area. On or about April 1, the City of Danbury will begin replacing the Reservoir Street bridge that crosses over the creek near the Bethel town line.
