Trumbull Counterfeit Ring Busted Using Fake Credit Cards
An alleged counterfeiting ring was stopped by Trumbull Police as they fled the Trumbull Mall after attempting to use fraudulent credit cards to make several purchases. The ring was busted around 6 p.m. Wednesday after a Trumbull officer patrolling the mall’s parking lot observed three men walking together acting suspiciously, said Trumbull Police Capt. The teenagers have been arrested in connection with the broad-daylight assault of a 60-year-old man at a park in the area late last month. The victim, a 60-year-old, was attacked by three assailants as he was walking through Twin Brooks Park in Trumbull on Nov. 24. An area man was arrested and is facing charges after allegedly groping a 9-year-old girl while visiting Westfield Trumbull Mall. The alleged incident occurred Sunday, Dec. 2 around 3 p.m. A female shopper reporter to authorities that a man had allegedly grabbed her daughter’s buttocks twice in the children’s clothing section at Target. A 32-year-old man was arrested and faces charges after allegedly groping a woman at Trumbull Mall, authorities say. The incident occurred around 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, Javier Campos of Bridgeport was visiting the mall when a female shopper reported that she felt him walk up "extremely close" behind her, according to Trumbull Police. A 25-year-old man was arrested for allegedly using counterfeit money to make purchases at the Trumbull Mall. Namon Donnel Johnson of the Bronx was arrested Saturday after he fled on foot from Trumbull Police after being stopped and questioned about counterfeiting, department officials said in a press release. Police arrested a local man for posting a bomb threat towards Trumbull High School on his Facebook page. Rushab Momaya, 23, a 2011 Trumbull High School graduate, stated that he was going to bomb the school but did not include any details in the posting, Trumbull police said. A 13-year-old Trumbull student was arrested for posting comments and a photo of himself on social media holding a handgun, according to Trumbull Police. The posting and arrest took place on Saturday while he was in a group text with other students, police said.
