Two people were found dead in what authorities are calling a double homicide in a Roselle home Wednesday, April 19, a spokesperson for the Union County Prosecutor's Office confirmed. A police investigation at the corner of West 7th Avenue and Pine Street placed schools on lockdown out of an abundance of caution. Trio Plagued Union County With Robberies, Carjacking: Prosecutor
Three men have been arrested and charged in one carjacking and a string of armed robberies that plagued residents in Union County. Alfred Pierre, 37, and Daron Thomas, 32, were arrested on Tuesday, April 4 and charged with multiple counts of robbery, aggravated assault and weapons offenses, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel announced. A third suspect, Isaiah Barret, was previously arrested last December. Pierre and Thomas were charged for five armed robberies between Dec. 2022 and Jan. 2023, Daniel said. A Union County driver coaxed a 12-year-old girl into his car while she was walking home from the movies in Essex County and sexually assaulted her at his home the following day, authorities said. Elizabeth Dog Fighting Accident Leaves 2 Pit Bulls Dead, 3 Women Hospitalized
Police opened fire on two of five fighting pit bulls who bit three women Tuesday morning, March 21 at their Elizabeth home, authorities said. Police were called to the Amity Street home when the dogs attacked a person who tried separating them, according to the Union County Prosecutor's Office. Police shot and killed two of the dogs. The three women who were bitten were hospitalized in unknown condition, authorities said. Their condition was not immediately known.

A 44-year-old Roselle man was shot and killed in broad daylight over the weekend in Rahway, authorities said.
