'Hearts Are Broken': IDs Of Newark Firefighters Killed In Line Of Duty Released
Augusto Acabou and Wayne Brooks, Jr. will be remembered as heroes. Newark firefighters Augusto "Augie" Acabou, 45, and Wayne Brooks, 49, died battling a massive ship fire at Port Newark on Wednesday, July 5, city officials announced in a Thursday morning, July 6 press conference. Football Players Needed For FX Series Filming In North Jersey
An FX series filming in North Jersey is seeking men to play football players. Actors for "Gladiator" will make up for $165 for up to 10 hours of work, and possibly then overtime, in Union on Tuesday, June 27. Union Woman Killed In Summit Car Crash (

A 51-year-old Union woman was killed in a one-car crash in Summit on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 13, police said. The crash occurred on Orchard Street and Harvard Street, police said. The unidentified woman was driving a 2005 white, four-door Toyota Camry at a high rate of speed when her vehicle struck a tree, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The cause of the accident is under investigation, police said.
