A woman wanted out of Maryland was arrested in Virginia operating a stolen car containing a stolen gun loaded with an extended magazine, police said. Trouble began around 11:35 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14, on the 500 block of 12 Street S., when Arlington officers were called to help Public Service Aid with a parking violation of a vehicle, county police said. A 48-year-old Paterson resident was arrested for stealing a truck after police spotting him riding a bicycle in Fairfield on Friday, Feb. 20, authorities said. At 1:30 p.m., police in Fairfield received a call from a victim of a vehicle theft in Totowa, officers said. Vehicle Stolen, Cars Broken Into Overnight In Phillipsburg: Police
Police are investigating after a rash of vehicle crimes in Phillipsburg overnight on Thursday, Feb. 22. Between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m., a car was stolen on the 300 block of Thomas Street, Phillipsburg police said on Facebook. Two vehicle thefts occurred on the 300 block of Warren Street and the 100 block of Broad Street, respectively, police said. A 13-year-old Newark boy was recently arrested for a carjacking in Cranford that occurred last fall, authorities said.
