Virginia State Police have arrested the driver they say sparked a wild I-95 chase, rammed a trooper’s cruiser, and vanished into the night nearly two months ago.
Kevin Lopez Martinez, 21, of Woodbridge, was taken into custody after troopers were able to locate the red Kia Forte at the center of the Oct. 6 pursuit, according to Virginia State Police on Thursday, Dec. 4.
The arrest marks the end of a search that began just after 6:04 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6, when a trooper tried stopping a red Kia for reckless driving on northbound I-95 in Stafford County, police said.

A Virginia man was killed when his disabled car was slammed by a speeding driver on I-395, state police said.
Virginia State Police said the crash happened around 2:20 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, in the southbound lanes of the interstate in Alexandria, near the three-mile marker.
According to investigators, a 2008 Toyota Corolla crashed and became disabled in the roadway.
Moments later, police said, a 2021 Hyundai Venue traveling southbound at a high rate of speed struck the Corolla.

The search for a missing Maryland man in Shenandoah National Park has ended in tragedy.
The body of Robert “Bob” Bieri, 61, was found at 12:13 p.m. on Monday, July 7, near Lewis Falls, where he had last been seen, Shenandoah National Park officials said in a statement released Monday afternoon.
Bieri, of Severna Park, was reported missing on the evening of Saturday, July 5. He was last seen off-trail in the Lewis Falls area, according to park spokesperson Allysah Fox.

A septic truck rolled, a dump truck slammed into trees, and a driver had to be cut out of the wreck — all on a Loudoun County highway, Virginia State Police said.
Troopers responded at 2:15 p.m. on Friday, June 13, to a wreck on the ramp from Route 267 west to the Route 7 Bypass, according to police.
One dump truck ended up smashed into trees. The other truck, a fully loaded septic hauler, rolled onto its side and pinned the driver in the seat.
