Children Given THC Gummies, Razor Blades Found In Halloween Candy In Separate CT Incidents
The importance of parents checking their children's Halloween candy was highlighted when police in Connecticut received two separate reports of dangers including candy with THC and razor blades put in bags. In Waterford, police said they were notified on Thursday, Oct. 31, that two children, under 18 years old, had each received a sealed package of a “gummy” style candy, said Waterford Police Lt. William F. Mignault, a legendary high school football coach in Connecticut, has died at the age of 90. The Connecticut High School Hall of Famer, who started the football program at Ledyard High School and served as its coach for more than four decades, died on Tuesday, Oct. 1, the school announced. Three beaches in Fairfield County rank among the cleanest beaches along Long Island Sound, according to a new study of water quality covering the past three years. Horses Rescued After Trailer Overturns
Two horses were saved after the trailer they were being hauled in was involved in a multi-vehicle crash. The crash took place around 7:42 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 6 on the Interstate 395-Route 32 connector in Waterford, according to the Cohanzie Fire Company. Responding firefighters from Waterford’s Quaker Hill Fire Company and the Cohanzie Fire Company found an overturned horse trailer, perched over an embankment, with two horses onboard, when they arrived. A psychologist in Connecticut has paid more than $125,000 to resolve state and federal claims that she violated the False Claims Acts by billing Medicaid for services she failed to provide. Ex-Teacher Accused Of Sexual Assault Found With Student In Traffic Stop
A former Fairfield County educator awaiting trial for allegedly sexually assaulting two students is back in hot water after being busted during a traffic stop with one of her alleged victims. Milford resident Laura Ramos, an ex-special education teacher at Central High School in Bridgeport, had been out on $50,000 bond as she awaits trial following her arrest in June last year.
