Homicide Roundup: Prosecutor Releases Names Of 14 Accused Killers In Newark Summer Murders
It's been a busy four months for the Essex County Prosecutor's Homicide Task Force. Fourteen suspects have been arrested in 12 Newark committed from Saturday, June 1 through Monday, Sept. 30, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said. On Tuesday, June 4, Ty'Shon Young, a 27-year-old Newark resident was killed in a double shooting on the 200 block of South Orange Avenue, authorities said. Altaron Amir Robinson, of Allentown, was shot in the 1900 block of Butztown Road, Bethlehem at 9:29 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, the Lehigh County Coroner detailed. Maplewood Man Assaults Officer After Attack At Local Home, Police Say
A 32-year-old man was jailed on assault charges after an incident in Maplewood last week, police said. Steven Hemmings, a local resident, is accused of attacking someone at a Florida Street home, and then attacking an officer, on Monday, Aug. 12, Maplewood according to police and charges filed against him.
