Woman Charged For Fatal Hit-Run Long Island Crash
A Long Island woman has been arrested for a fatal hit-and-run crash that left a woman dead earlier this year.
Brenda Alvarenga, age 27, of West Babylon, was arrested on Friday, April 15, and charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.

The crash killed Gina Paduano, age 33, of Centereach, around 5:15 a.m., Monday, March 7, on Route 347 in Stony Brook, said the Suffolk County Police.

Man Sentenced In Suffolk County 'Birth Tourism' Health Care Fraud Scheme
A 50-year-old man has been sentenced on charges related to a "birth tourism" health care fraud scheme he operated on Long Island.
Ibrahim Aksakal, a Turkish national, was sentenced on Tuesday, March 8, to 27 months in prison for conspiring to commit health care and wire fraud, according to an announcement from Breon Peace, United States attorney for the Eastern District of New York.
Aksakal was also ordered to pay restitution of $1,039,723.63, and forfeiture in the amount of $397,500, according to the announcement.

Chick-fil-A Announces Plans For New Long Island Locations
Chick-fil-A has shared its plans to open new locations on Long Island.
Representatives from the company said the fast-food chain will open new locations in both Nassau, in Rosedale, and Suffolk, in Huntington in 2022.
Additionally, Chick-fil-A is in the early phases of pursuing three other locations on Long Island.
