81-Year-Old Driver Suffered 'Medical Emergency' Before Fatal South Jersey Crash: Police An 81-year-old driver from West Deptford suffered a "medical emergency" before a fatal crash, authorities said. Tannis Vanderwerken  crashed into a utility pole at Grove Avenue and Woodbury Terrance in West Deptford at 5:28 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, police said. Vanderwerken was taken to Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill where she was pronounced dead, police said. The Gloucester County Medical Examiner’s Office said that Vanderwerken died as a result of injuries suffered in the collision, police said.
