Pair Nabbed In Essex County Armed Robberies Had Lengthy Rap Sheets: Police
Two men with lengthy arrest records have been arrested in connection with two armed robberies -- one in Livingston and another in West Orange, local police said.
Shyhiem Clark, 24, of Newark, and Tyrese Thompson, 22, of Elizabeth, were charged in connection with the Sept. 27 incident at a Mount Pleasant Avenue store, according to police in West Orange.
The two are believed to be linked to a second robbery in Livingston on Oct. 4, authorities said.

Ski Mask Clad Men Busted In Montclair Burglaries, Police Say
Two men were arrested in connection with a restaurant burglary in Montclair and seven additional car thefts, authorities said.
Jorge Dalmaumartinez, 18, of West Orange, and Joseph Azofeifa, 19, of Montclair, were seen wearing ski masks and peering into cars in the parking lot of Faubourg Restaurant on Thursday around 6 a.m., according to Montclair Police Sgt. Terrence Turner.
Officers were flagged down by a worker at the Bloomfield Avenue restaurant, who said he had just arrived at work when he saw the men wearing masks inside the establishment, Turner said.

A lottery ticket worth $10,000 was sold in North Jersey.
The ticket for the Tuesday, Sept. 28, drawing was sold at ShopRite of Essex Green on Prospect Avenue in West Orange.
The ticket matched four of the five white balls: 18, 30, 43, 68, and 69, and the Gold Mega Ball: 22, winning the $10,000 prize.

Thousands Without Power As Tornados Rip Through South Jersey
Tornados ripped through parts of South Jersey Wednesday evening, downing trees and destroying houses along the way, the National Weather Service has confirmed (scroll down for videos).

The tickets from the Saturday, Aug. 21 drawing each win the third-tier prize.
