An officer made a traffic stop after witnessing a vehicle run a stop sign on Saturday, Nov. 17 around midnight at the intersection of Weston Road and Main Street and continue to swerve and switch lanes. The man was identified as Bernard Rombout of Weston. Police picked up an alcoholic odor from the vehicle and instructed Rombout to perform a series of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Alert Issued After Bobcat Sightings Reported Near Two Schools In Fairfield County Two schools have cut recess for the week after a pair of bobcat sightings were reported. Officials with the Weston Public Schools sent out a letter to parents after they were warned by police about the sightings. The bobcat or cats were seen near the lower end of the Hurlbutt Elementary School and the Weston Intermediate School. As of 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Eversource was reporting nearly 139 outages in Connecticut, including several Fairfield County municipalities. Weston is reporting the most outages with 446.
