Fairfield County Man Charged For Failing To Plant Trees, Police Say
A Fairfield County man has been arrested for allegedly taking $13,000 to buy and plant trees he never bought or planted.
Joseph Esposito Jr. age 53, of Redding, was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 15 by Westport Police and charged with larceny.
According to Lieutenant David Wolf, of the Westport Police, Esposito was arrested after the department received a complaint that he had taken $13,000 in November 2021 from a Westport resident to buy and plant trees.
The work was never performed and despite multiple requests, the deposit was not returned to the complainant, Wolf said.

Two Fairfield County schools will be closed on Monday, June 21, following the deaths of a 7-year-old student and her mother.
The schools, Coleytown Elementary School, which the child attended, along with Stepping Stones Preschool, which is located inside Coleytown, will be closed Monday in response to the tragedy.

NY Man Accused Of Forcing Fairfield County Teen To Send Nude Photos
A New York man has been arrested on a warrant for allegedly forcing a Fairfield County teen into sending him nude photos of herself.
Anthony Pangallo, age 37, of Rego Park, in Queens, was arrested on the warrant on Tuesday, May 25, by Westport Police for the incident which took place late last year.
