The votes are in, and New York's 16th Congressional District now knows its next representative in Congress. Democrat George Latimer has been projected as the winner for the House seat representing the southern portion of Westchester, including White Plains, Mount Vernon, Yonkers, New Rochelle, and Rye, and a small part of the northern Bronx, defeating Republican Miriam Flisser, according to the state Board of Elections. Over 100 Sex Offenders To Be Kept Off Westchester Streets On Halloween With Educational Program
To help ensure the safety of young trick-or-treaters in Westchester on Halloween night, county officials will be requiring registered sex offenders to attend a program intended to keep them off the streets. A visitor to a Westchester gas station walked away with a lottery ticket worth tens of thousands of dollars. The third-prize-winning Powerball ticket, worth $50,000, was sold in White Plains for the drawing on Monday, Oct. 21, New York Lottery officials announced.
