Covid-19: Town-By-Town Rates And Trends, Hampden County - Dec. 18
Two communities in Hampden County lowered their COVID-19 incident rate and nearly a dozen are below the highest risk category - red, according to the most recent state data.
On Thursday, Dec. 17, Massachusetts Public Health Department released weekly town-by-town datasets that include how many COVID-19 incidents there are per 100,000 residents - the incident rate.
The communities where the rate went down are Southwick and Belchertown.

Unregistered Sex Offender Busted With Help Of 'Alert' Citizen
Police are saluting an “alert” citizen who reported a man suspiciously watching children at play.
It turns out the man is a sex offender who never registered his newest home, work or school address with the police.
Wilbraham Police arrested Christopher Tadra Berchem, 46, of Somers, Connecticut, on the charge of failure to register as a sex offender, level 2 or 3, police said.

Covid-19, Where Are The Hot Spots? Town Infection Rates And Trends - Hampden County, Aug.
Hampden County has a lot to celebrate in this week’s COVID-19 positive test results - a lot of cities were able to bring their rates down, according to the most recent information from the Baker Administration.
This week, the update contains a new community, Longmeadow, that had been previously missing from the report.
Positive test rates have gone down in Agawam, Brimfield, Chicopee, Springfield, West Springfield, and Westfield.
Meanwhile, Holyoke positive test rate has held mostly steady over the last three weeks and rates in East Longmeadow and Wilbraham went up a bit.

National Grid: Power To Return To All Western Mass Customers By Saturday, Aug. 8
About half of National Grid’s customers in the eastern portion of Western Massachusetts may be without electricity until the afternoon of Saturday, Aug. 8.
As of Thursday, Aug. 6, 14,223 Hampden County National Grid customers were without power in the wake of the Tuesday Tropical Storm Isaias.
