Laura Belle (L.B.) Raven, 96, formerly of Valhalla, died on Aug. 4. She was the wife of the late Albert Raven. L.B. was born on Dec. 24, 1922 in White Plains, a daughter of Hazel and Harry Havery. She lived and worked in White Plains until her marriage to Albert Raven in 1946. They settled in Valhalla and raised two daughters, Susan and Patti. L.B. worked for the Valhalla United Methodist Church and the Byram Hills School District. Attorney Sentenced For Defrauding Elderly Clients Out Of Millions
A partner at a Connecticut law firm will spend time behind bars for cooking up a multi-million dollar scheme to steal from his elderly clients. Robert Barry, 78, of Woodbury, a former partner in the law firm of Sturges and Mathes in Southbury, was sentenced to 21 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to wire fraud in September last year. Victims Identified In Triple Fatal Oxford Fire
This story has been updated. The three people who perished in a raging house fire in Oxford on Saturday, March 23, along with a dog have been identified. A wanted Connecticut man is facing a series of charges for allegedly illegally importing dogs and running an illegal pet shop after being busted at a Route 6 restaurant, state police announced on Monday.
