A man who was inspecting a chimney of a Long Island survived a fall from the second floor of the residence. The incident took place around 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 18 in Manorhaven, said the Nassau County Police. According to detectives, a 38-year-old worker was inspecting a chimney on the second floor of a residence located on Orchard Beach Boulevard. Worker Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle At Long Island Business
An investigation is underway after a worker was killed after being struck by a vehicle at a Long Island business. The incident happened just before 6:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11 in Island Park on the lot of 3896 Long Beach Road, Nassau County Police said. The 59-year-old male employee of Nicolia Ready Mix was transported by a Nassau County Police Department Ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. Tree Worker, 28, From Passaic County Killed In Oakland Mishap
A 28-year-old tree worker was killed in Oakland on Tuesday when he was struck in the head by a wood chipper, authorities said. Members of the Oakland First Aid Squad and a paramedic unit from the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood joined police at the scene on Stony Point Road off Route 202 around 9:45 a.m., police Lt. Christian Eldridge said. A medical chopper was called for but then cancelled. The unconscious Pompton Lakes victim was later pronounced dead at the hospital, Eldridge said. A truck driver was killed when a load of pipe fell on him Thursday morning at an electrical construction company warehouse in Clifton, responders said.
