Update: Tree Worker Fatally Struck By Branch In Morris Township A man working on Isaias storm cleanup in Morris Township was struck and killed by a branch that fell in a wooded area, authorities said. Jody Terwilliger, 58, of Shohola, Pennsylvania was struck by the branch near Craig Road and Sussex Avenue around 9:10 a.m. Thursday, NorthJersey.com reports. EMS crews performed CPR on Terwilliger before transporting him to Morristown Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, authorities said in the report. Terwilliger was an employee at Nelson Tree Service, the report said. His death was determined to be accidental.

Mechanic Gets Pinned Under Bus In Jersey City A 39-year-old mechanic was rushed to the hospital Thursday after he was pinned beneath a bus he was working on in Jersey City, a city spokeswoman said.  The mechanic was working at a yard at 532 Johnston Ave. around 4:30 p.m. when the stationary bus apparently became unstable and rolled backwards.  Personnel from the police Emergency Services Unit and the Jersey City Fire Department propped the bus up to free the man, who was taken to Jersey City Medical Center.  Information on his condition was not immediately available Friday.

Long Island Worker Killed After Being Struck By 18-Wheel Truck A 39-year-old paving-crew worker was killed after being accidentally struck by an asphalt truck on Long Island. It happened on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 10:15 a.m. in Freeport, Nassau County Police said. According to detectives, the male victim, Charles Grange Jr. of Massapequa, who was part of the road-paving crew working in the vicinity of Guy Lombardo Avenue and Grant Street, was accidentally struck by an accompanying 18-wheel asphalt truck, causing him to suffer fatal injuries.  Grange was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into this accident is ongoing.
