Jocelyn Otero, age 14, was last seen in Yonkers in the area of Mt. Carmel Place on Friday, Feb. 28, the Yonkers Police Department announced on Thursday, March 6.  Otero is described as a Black girl who is 5-foot-4 and 209 pounds. Basement Blaze Fills Home With Smoke In Yonkers (Photos) A basement blaze at a Westchester home filled the building with smoke and prompted a quick response from fire crews, firefighters said. The fire began at 73 Gordon St. in Yonkers on Monday morning, Feb. 24, according to the Yonkers Fire Department, which soon found smoke coming from the basement and transmitted a 10-29 signal. Firefighters knocked down the flames in the basement, preventing the fire from spreading to the rest of the house. Crews then worked to ventilate the home, which had heavy smoke throughout.  No injuries were reported.

Body Found In Water Along Sprain Brook Parkway In Yonkers Authorities are investigating after a body was discovered in a waterway next to the Sprain Brook Parkway in Westchester. The body was spotted on Wednesday, Feb. 19 in the Grassy Sprain Brook in Yonkers near the Kimball Avenue overpass alongside the Sprain Brook Parkway, Yonkers Police Sgt. Robert Spink said on Thursday, Feb. 20.  Upon arrival, officers found the deceased adult man in the water.
