Mercedes Becomes Engulfed In Flames In Darien DARIEN, Conn. -- A Mercedes Benz became completely engulfed in flames as it was driving on Goodwives River Road in Darien last week. Darien Police and the Noroton Fire Department were dispatched to Goodwives River Road at around 7:30 p.m. on Monday, June 19 on a report of a fully engulfed vehicle fire. Norwalk Officer Awarded For Helping To Take Down Heroin Ring NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk Police Officer Julio Rodriguez was recently recognized with a United States Attorney's Award for his work on an investigation into a drug trafficking ring following several overdose deaths. Trumbull Police Seek Info On Suspect In Two Home Burglaries TRUMBULL, Conn. -- Trumbull Police are seeking information on a male suspect who was seen on a bicycle at the scene of two residential burglaries on Monday morning. Police were called to home on Walker Road and Thomas Street by residents who reported that their homes had been entered. Police determined that the burglaries occurred around 9:30 a.m. Monday. Computer, Cash Stolen From Porsche In Bertucci's Parking Lot In Darien DARIEN, Conn. -- Somebody smashed the window of a Porsche parked at Bertucci's in Darien last week and stole a computer, according to police. At around 7:45 p.m. on Monday, June 19, police were called to the parking lot of Bertucci's, located at 54 Post Road. The complainants said that they parked their 2017 Porsche Cayenne and went into the restaurant to eat dinner. When they returned about 40 minutes later, the rear right window of the car had been broken. Taken was a tote bag, an Apple MacBook Pro computer, and a wallet containing $200 cash, police said. NY Man Charged With Trying To Use Fake Credit Card At Walgreens In Darien DARIEN, Conn. -- A New York man was charged with trying to use a fraudulent credit card to buy a gift card at a Walgreens in Darien last week, according to police. Police were called to the Walgreens on Heights Road at around 2:30 p.m. on Monday, June 19 on a report of a customer attempting to use a fraudulent credit card. Police: Repeat Drunken Driver Charged In New Canaan After Erratic Operation NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- A Mamaroneck, N.Y. man with two prior DUI arrests was arrested in New Canaan Monday on drunken driving charges after police said he ran a red light and almost hit another car.
