Winding Lane Closes, Water Street Floods In Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. -- A section of Water Street was flooded and a tree fell on wires on Winding Avenue in Norwalk on Thursday. Norwalk Police said on Twitter that Water Street was flooded between Hanford Place and Concord Street. Drivers should avoid the area. Winding Lane was also closed as of around 12:30 p.m. after police said trees were on a wire that was burning. Eversource was notified and fire and police officials were on the scene. Earlier in the morning, Norwalk Police reported that a tree and power line were down on Patrick Avenue, but as of 12:45 p.m. the area was open.

Thunderstorms, Flooding Possible On Rainy Thursday In New Canaan FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Fairfield County residents will see plenty of rain through Memorial Day, with rain expected for most of the day Thursday, along with a possible thunderstorm and flooding. Bridgeport Police: Felon Threw Gun Out Car Window During Chase BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A convicted felon was arrested in Bridgeport Tuesday night after police say he tried to hit an officer with his car, threw a gun out his car window and had several drugs in his possession, according to the Connecticut Post. South Salem Man Cites 'Medical Reasons' For Being Nude Outside A 65-year-old Northern Westchester man caught outside without his pants on in nearby New Canaan, Conn., last week told police that he was naked for "medical reasons," according to police. At around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 19, police were dispatched to Lapham Road in New Canaan on a report of a naked elderly man near a parked car. State Gets The Green Light To Improve Traffic Signals In Bridgeport FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — The state is investing $5 million to install new traffic control signals at intersections around the state to make them safer for both drivers and pedestrians. Lawsuit Accuses Bridgeport Detective Of Sending Unwanted Sexual Messages BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A Bridgeport woman is suing the detective who investigate a burglary at her home after she said he sent her sexually explicit text messages, according to the Connecticut Post. Roads To Close In Norwalk Monday For Memorial Day Parade NORWALK, Conn. -- Several roads will be closed to traffic in Norwalk on Monday as the city holds its annual Memorial Day Parade.I-95 Exit 16 ramps will be closed from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday. Darien YMCA Golf Scramble Raises Money For Special Needs Programs DARIEN, Conn. -- A golf scramble June 5 in Greenwich will help pay for special needs programming for kids and teens at the Darien YMCA. The Darien Y is the largest provider of special needs programs in the Darien community, with an annual participation rate of over 600 people. There are classes in cooking, art, fitness, yoga, and martial arts and aquatics programs. There is even a girls club for kids, teens and young adults.
