Bomb-Sniffing Dog Joins The Ranks At Westport Police Department WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Westport Police Department has welcomed to its ranks a new K-9, Ambo, who will be used to detect explosives. Ambo is a 3-year-old yellow Labrador trained by Frank Reda of Superior K9. Ambo specializes in the latest cutting-edge techniques used to detect explosives, police said. Ambo is the first K-9 for the Westport Police Department trained in explosives detection. He will be partnered up and handled by K-9 Officer James Loomer.
