Rye Decreases 2014 Budget, Cuts Police Station Upgrades RYE, N.Y. -- Rye has decreased its proposed budget for 2014 and reduced funding for capital improvements at the police station and courthouse. The tax rate that was originally proposed in November was 2.52 percent. After making some adjustments, the new tax rate will be 1.99 percent, according to Deputy Comptroller Joseph Fazzino. Harrison Sees Slight Increase In 2014 Proposed Budget HARRISON, N.Y. -- Harrison's proposed budget for 2014 has grown due to a decrease in assessment values and increases in insurance premiums. The budget proposed in November called for a tax rate increase of 3.854 percent, and now stands at 4.13 percent. Harrison will remain under the state tax levy cap of 1.66 percent, according to Comptroller Maureen MacKenzie.
