Overturned Cement Truck Closes Exit Ramp On I-95 In Greenwich GREENWICH, Conn. -- The exit 3 off ramp on I-95 southbound in Greenwich is closed due to an overturned cement truck. The accident was reported around 12:18 p.m. on Monday, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation. Greenwich Police tweeted that state police are on the scene, and that there were minor injuries in the accident. An estimated time for the reopening of the ramp was not available Monday afternoon.

Firefighters Douse Burning Car In Trumbull During Rush Hour TRUMBULL, Conn. -- A car caught fire on White Plains Road in Trumbull during the morning rush hour on Friday. Firefighters from the Nichols Fire Department and the Trumbull Volunteer Fire Company were dispatched to White Plains Road at around 8 a.m. Friday for a reported car fire. When they arrived, they quickly began stretching a car fire line to extinguish the blaze. Firefighters overhauled the car to ensure the fire was out before it was removed by a towing company. Bridgeport Man Charged With Stealing Bike From Train Station In Westport WESTPORT, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man was charged this week with stealing a bike from the Saugatuck train station in Westport over the summer. At around 7:30 p.m. on June 14, someone reported that his bicycle had been stolen from the Saugatuck train station bike rack located on Railroad Place. The victim said he had locked his bike up with a lock. Detectives reviewed video surveillance footage from that day and saw a white or Hispanic male remove the lock and ride off on the bike, police said. Brookfield Police Welcome Newest Officer To The Force BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- The Brookfield Police Department welcomed the newest member to its ranks this week. On Thursday, Officer Terry Hawaux was sworn in as the department's newest police officer. Hawaux joins Brookfield as a later transfer from the Ridgefield Police Department, where he served as an officer for approximately four years. Hawaux will be spending the next few weeks on accelerated field training, where he will be getting acquainted with the ins and outs of the town and police department.
