Man Convicted Of Greenwich Robbery Apprehended After Fleeing To China GREENWICH, Conn. -- A man convicted of taking part in a Greenwich jewelry store robbery in 2011 has been returned to the United States after fleeing the country in 2014 to avoid jail time, according to Greenwich Time. Naquan Ferguson, 31, had been sentenced in 2014 to eight and a half years in prison as part of a plea deal for his part in the robbery, where he and two other people were accused of stealing five Rolex watches valued at $60,000 apiece, according to Greenwich Time. Incarcerated Man Charged With Assaulting Woman With Bottle In Stamford STAMFORD, Conn. -- A 29-year-old Stamford man was charged with hitting a woman in the head with a beer bottle in a Stamford park back in July, according to the Stamford Advocate. Police told the Stamford Advocate that the 45-year-old woman reported on July 24 that she had been sitting at a picnic table in a park on Southfield Drive when the incident happened. Trumbull Man Charged With Bringing Gun To Grocery Store While Drunk TRUMBULL, Conn. -- A Trumbull man was charged with going into a supermarket while drunk with a loaded gun, according to the Connecticut Post. Police received a report of an intoxicated man with a gun at the Stop & Shop on Quality Street on Monday, but when officers arrived the man had left, the Connecticut Post reported. Danbury Driver Found With Two Pounds Of Pot In Wilton WILTON, Conn. -- A 19-year-old Danbury resident was arrested in Wilton after officers found more than two pounds of marijuana in his car, according to police. At around 9:30 p.m. on Monday, a car driven by 19-year-old Tyler Nicholas Geragi was stopped in the area of Danbury Road and Sharp Hill Road in Wilton on a traffic light violation, police said. Help Load Truck In Westport With Donations For Hurricane Harvey Victims WESTPORT, Conn. -- A truck full of donated items for victims of Hurricane Harvey will be loaded up this Saturday at the Imperial Avenue Lot in Westport.In an effort to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey, the donation collection has been organized by Westport resident and AquaFence Director Adam Goldberg. Bowl Worth Thousands Of Dollars Stolen From Darien Home DARIEN, Conn. -- A bowl worth more than $4,000 was reported stolen from a Darien home this past weekend. The owner of a Dubois Street home reported on Sunday that, during a time when a contractor was working on her home, a bowl of substantial value was taken, police said. The bowl was valued at $4,830, according to police. The homeowner told officers that nobody else had been in her home during the time the bowl was taken, and that the contractors had been at her home while she was at work, police said. More Than $23,000 Taken From Darien Man's Bank Account DARIEN, Conn. -- Someone fraudulently withdrew more than $23,000 from a Darien resident's bank account this summer, according to police. The complainant reported to police on Tuesday, Aug. 29 that money had been withdrawn from the bank account. He had been notified by his bank that excessive withdrawals had been occurring, and when he checked his account he saw that more than 20 transactions ahd taken place between June 5 and Aug. 29, according to police. Norwalk Driver Busted With Pot Under Child Seat In Darien DARIEN, Conn. — A 27-year-old Norwalk man was arrested in Darien after police found marijuana in his car during a traffic stop. At around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 29, an officer saw a car driving on Old Kings Highway South without a front license plate. The car was stopped, and while speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the car, police said.
