If you're looking for a "perfectly grungy" bar experience, New Haven has the spot for you.
It's called Cafe Nine, and it has everything. "Cool graffiti," "a divey atmosphere, but not too divey," "a tiny bathroom," "live music from cool up-and-coming independent bands," and "chairs!"
Those were taken from nearly 70 Yelp reviews for the 250 State St. bar, which was recently named Connecticut's best dive bar by the Takeout.

100-Plus Vendors, Live Music Set For Ridgefield SummerFest
Downtown Ridgefield will come alive with more than 100 vendors, live entertainment, family activities, shopping specials, and food during SummerFest on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with attractions planned along Main Street and at Bailey Avenue, the Ridgefield Library, Lounsbury House, and other downtown locations.
