Man Identified In Deadly Pedestrian Crash On Jersey Shore Road Authorities have identified the pedestrian who was killed by a minivan in Ocean Township earlier this week. Yefim Rotsenmar, 68, of Ocean Township died in the crash on West Park Avenue on Tuesday, Jan. 30, a spokesperson for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said. Ocean Township police responded to the crash at around 5:49 p.m. The avenue was closed for several hours between Poplar Road and Cindy Lane. State Denies Beach Erosion Prevention Plan For Jersey Shore City A plan to protect beaches in one Cape May County city has been blocked by the state, officials said. The state Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) sent a letter to the City of North Wildwood denying an emergency request to build a beachfront bulkhead, the city announced on Thursday, Feb. 1. An obituary for Palombo said he died with his wife and family by his side on Saturday, Jan. 27. He was the 15th mayor of North Wildwood, serving the city from 1994 to 2005. First Confirmed Rabies Case Of 2024 Found In Atlantic County Raccoon A raccoon was found with rabies in Atlantic County in the first confirmed case of the year, according to officials. The county's health department said the raccoon tested positive for the virus on Wednesday, Jan. 31 after the animal was found on the 100 block of Asbury Avenue in Egg Harbor Township. The commission for the Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) unanimously approved a resolution to enter a lease agreement with Aviation Sports Complex LLC.
