Jersey Shore Man Killed In Garden State Parkway Crash, Woman Injured, Police Say An Ocean County man was killed in a crash when his SUV drove off the Garden State Parkway and he wound up ejected from the vehicle, authorities said. Troopers responded to mile marker 68.2 in Barnegat at around 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25, according to state police. George Francis, 34, of Lanoka Harbor, was driving an SUV south on the parkway when the vehicle went off the right side of the road.  The SUV went down a ditch and hit a retaining wall, along with several trees. Francis was ejected from the vehicle and died from his injuries. Jersey Shore City Increases Fees, Regulations For Boardwalk Performers The Ocean City beachfront will feel and sound a little different this summer after new rules were approved to regulate boardwalk performers. City council unanimously passed an ordinance on Thursday, Jan. 25 to raise the fee for a performance permit to $200. The regulations also limit musicians and other performers to two "entertainment zones" along the boardwalk. The zones for performances will be between Fifth and Eighth streets, as well as 12th through 14th streets.
