One victim was shot near Clyde Potts Drive around 1:45 a.m., according to initial and unconfirmed reports. The suspect stole and fled in a white Land Rover, the unconfirmed report said. Morris County Accountant Defrauded Victim Out Of $3,100, Police Say A Morris County accountant has been charged after police say he defrauded a victim out of $3,100. The victim told Washington Township Police that the accountant was hired to help the victim file a tax amendment in July 2021, authorities said. The victim gave the accountant the amendment fee of $3,100 but after following up learned that the accountant never filed the amendment and instead pocketed the money, police say. The accountant — a Long Valley man whose name was not released — was charged with theft by deception and is scheduled to appear in Morris County Superior Court.
