Thousands Without Power Across NJ, Including Nearly 53K In One County Alone
Thousands of New Jersey residents remained without electricity Saturday, July 4, after severe thunderstorms swept through the state Friday evening, causing widespread damage and outages.
A severe thunderstorm watch had been in effect for much of New Jersey as the storms moved through. By Saturday morning, the largest outages were concentrated in Morris, Monmouth, Burlington, Hunterdon, Middlesex, and Essex counties, according to JCP&L and PSE&G outage maps.

Son Convicted Of Killing Parents In Hopewell Township: Prosecutor
A Cumberland County jury has found a 37-year-old man guilty of murdering his parents inside their home and attempting to cover up the killings, authorities announced Friday, July 3.
Craig Williams, a Hopewell Township resident, was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder, along with weapons offenses, tampering with physical evidence, hindering apprehension, and obstruction, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said.
